Some have asked what our logo symbolizes so I thought I would take this opportunity to explain it.
First we have the wreath symbolizing peace in that our pursuits and methods will always be peaceful.
Next we have the United States flag to symbolize that we are an American organization and proud to be such though we would never refuse aid or comfort to anyone. This flag also stands for ALL who have stepped up to defend this country and her citizens at the risk of all they had including their very lives.
Then we come to the cross. The cross symbolizes several different things at once. First it represents our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ who is our Supreme Commander in all things. Next, by being centered within the wreath it represents the peace we seek and that only the Lord can give. Thirdly by being centered over the American flag it represents our fervent prayer that this country return to it's Christian roots and again recognize Jesus as Lord of all.
It is my sincere feeling that we were given this logo by God in that it very accurately symbolizes all that the United States Corps of Chaplains is and stands for. It represents what we all should strive for, a closer walk with the Lord.
And lastly, it clearly speaks of the people in this group, people that we at HQ are proud to work with and for daily. May God abundantly bless you every one.Chaplain (General) Phillip D. Burnette
