Instructions for
Disaster & Hunger Relief Kits
It is imperative that you read and follow these instructions completely. This is
too important to miss even one step. So, please take the time to read, check off
each step.
Collection instructions –
- USCOC Members print out the following: (save them to your PC and edit as
needed with your contact information)
- Contact Churches, businesses, organizations, and individuals.
- Give them the information and ask for their assistance in collecting Disaster
& Hunger Relief Kits. Leave one POSTER for their door or countertops.
- If you are able, also print out the NEW RECRUITING FLYER. The file will be
three to a page, front and back. Make sure you add your contact information. You
can give them out or leave them with the other information for anyone interested
in joining.
- Should the opportunity arise for you to minister at the same time you are
requesting the collection of these Kits, do not go beyond what is printed on the
press release, letter and recruiting flyer. This is a new program and it will
take some time to familiarize yourself, so please stay within the material
provided when describing the USCOC’s Disaster & Hunger Relief.
- When dropping off or speaking about the need for these Kits, set a day to
return and collect these Kits – 3 days and then a second collection of 1 week.
If more time is needed for additional Kits, by all means, please do so!
- After collection of Kits, you will need to remove the Form from each Kit.
Separate them and use a waterproof marker to Label the Kits (It will look best
if you print out a nice label, or handwrite on a label). Label them as follows:
- Personal Care Kits
- Household Kits
- Emergency Food Packs
- Children’s Disaster Kit
- Food Support Kit
- Temporary Shelter Kit
- Other Supplies (and list items donated that are not part of Kits)
- Deliver or send completed Kits to designated USCOC Member as follows for your
region:
- East – Chaplain (GEN) Phillip Burnette, USCOC HQ, Clanton, AL 35046 (location to
follow)
- West – Chaplain (LTG)Georgia Patrick, USCOC-Relief Aide, 516 Second St., Graham,
TX 76540
Ask those donating Kits, if they would be able to assist in shipping costs to
make sure these Disaster & Hunger Relief Kits reach those in need as quickly as
possible.
- Include in each Kit – the new recruiting brochure, tract, and/or the booklet:
“Manna for the Soul.” It is a ministry tract for crisis. This booklet can be
easily printed by following instructions (9 pages d/s with cover). Lord willing
we can find a printer to donate them. Before any Kit goes out, they MUST have a
recruiting brochure, tract and/or this booklet enclosed. Pray and believe we’ll
have them printed.
- Give the Forms and any Money donated to person designated (by HQ) to collect
the Kits for distribution, or send them directly to USCOC Headquarters as soon
as possible. E-mail Chaplain Burnette immediately with the amount of monetary
donations collected, so that he may know what is coming in to assist with other
items needed for Disaster Relief. In the subject line, reference: DR Monetary
Donations.
