PERSONAL CARE KITS
 

Please place these items in a zip-lock bag.  If you opt to include a wash cloth and towel, please wrap the items in the towel.

  • Bar of soap                        
  • Shampoo
  • Toothbrush
  • Toothpaste
  • Comb
  • Deodorant

      Optional:

  • Wash cloth
  • Towel

EMERGENCY FOOD PACKS
 

Please place these items in a zip-lock bag.

  • Granola bar, Pop-Tart or small cereal
  • Canned fruit or pudding cup
  • Juice box
  • Saltines, peanut butter or cheese crackers
  • Canned meat or meal (tuna, chili, soup, etc.)  

 

CHILDREN’S DISASTER KIT
 

Please place in a small box (such as shoebox). You may wrap the box if you wish and mark – girl or boy.

  • Book about God or feelings
  • Religious coloring book and crayons
  • Small stuffed animal
  • GIRLS – Doll (Baby or Barbie)
  • BOYS – Toy fire truck, ambulance or police car

LAYETTE KIT
 

Please wrap these items by placing them in a receiving blanket.  Wrap as though the blanket were a diaper and use the pins to keep it together.

  • (2) Receiving blankets        
  • (1) Washcloth
  • (2) One-piece outfits
  • (2) Nightshirts
  • (4) Diaper pins
  • (4) Cloth diapers

    Optional Needs:

  • Disposable Diapers (newborn)

HOUSEHOLD KITS
 

Please place these items in a brown paper sack.

  • Toilet paper
  • Paper towels
  • Comet
  • Sponge
  • Dishwashing liquid
  • Laundry detergent
  • Dish cloths
  • Trash Bags

FOOD SUPPORT KIT
 

Please place in a plastic bag.

  • 3 – 1 lb. bags of Dried Beans – Great Northern, Pinto, and Lentils
  • 2 – 1 lb. bags of Barley (Pearl)
  • 2 - 1 lb. bags of Rice

    Optional:
    1 lb. bags of, -

  • 15 Bean Soup (Hurst’s)
  • Black Eye Peas
  • Navy Beans
  • Black Beans
  • Yellow Rice
  • Oatmeal (box)

TEMPORARY SHELTER KIT
 

Please place in a box or bag.  Include a handwritten note with following scriptures on it: 

 

   “He will cover you with His feathers and under His wings you will find refuge.” –Ps. 91:4    “He will never leave you or forsake you.  –Dt. 31:8, Heb. 13:5

  • Tent (all sizes and styles)
  • Sleeping Bag
  • Blanket (any size)

SPECIAL NOTE:  In a crisis and disaster, as well as other times, there are other items needed, such as –

  • Disposable Diapers
  • Baby bottles
  • Baby Formula
  • Baby Food
  • Razor, Shaving cream (men)
  • Hygiene items (women – disposable pads, tampons)
  • Blankets, Linens, Pillows & Pillow Cases
  • Household supplies
  • Towels and Wash cloths
  • Toilet Paper and Paper Towels

  

Instructions:
 

To help, please follow these simple instructions.

 

1. Choose Kits you wish to donate.
2. Collect items and package as instructed.
3. Include the form attached in the package.
4. Return completed Kits to designated area (i.e. church, ministry, or business)
5. Monetary donations made payable to:

             FOR: Disaster & Hunger Relief – HK (Hurricane Katrina)

6. All donations, monetary or Kits must be accompanied by a form, and returned to designated area for pickup or contact USCOC for further instructions after the initial collection.
7. PRAY without ceasing for those in pain, distress, and desperation from this disaster. Pray for mercy, comfort, peace, and encouragement in this hour of their need and in the face of human suffering.
