Conference Chaplains and Chaplain Assistants are dedicated to serving their community by providing a valuable volunteer service. Local Ministry Teams, led by the Chaplain, may wear distinctive uniforms, USCoC embroidered polos, clergy shirts or other clothing suitable to the individual set of circumstances. Members have no rank. The Conference is not set up in a military fashion, nor is it affiliated with any branch of the United States Armed Services. Membership is open to men and women over the age of 21 who are US citizens or permanent US residents. Chaplains must present proof of satisfactory ordination in a 100% Christian church or denomination.

A National Advisory Board is responsible for overall policy, mission and objectives. A Chief Chaplain is in charge of the day-to-day operations of The Conference, assisted by two Deputy Chiefs - one for Ministry & Education and one in Planning & Operations, respectively. Membership numbers in geographical areas drive regional Lead Chaplain assignments. Ministry Teams in local communities are the foundation and groundwork of The Conference. In the USCoC, the word Chaplain is a verb.
Many training resources are available through The Conference and our ministry partners.
